A Plate Mail Top is a piece of armour worn on the torso by female characters. They offer significantly more protection than a chain mail body does at a given tier, but have exactly the same stats as a respective plate mail body. However, players cannot equip gloves or gauntlets while wearing one, which can be done while wearing a chain mail body.
Unlike plate mail bodies, players cannot make tops using the Smithing skill. However, they can be exchanged for plate mail bodies and vice-versa by using it on Thrander, located south of the east bank in Varrock. The exchange is done for free.
Types from bronze to mithril can also be purchased from Zenesha's Plate Mail Shop in East Ardougne.
Trivia[]
- Although the plate mail top is only intended for female characters, females can wear either the plate mail top or the plate mail body.
- Due to the bearded lady bug, "male" characters can wear plate mail tops as well.
