A scimitar is a one-handed melee weapon. They are generally stronger than short swords but weaker than long swords. In RuneScape 2, scimitars are considered an optimal weapon due to their speed. This is not the case in RuneScape Classic, because all weapons have the same speed. Instead, 2-handed swords, battle axes, and long swords are the most optimal melee weapons.
All scimitars can be made using the smithing skill and require two bars. Zeke's Superior Scimitars sells scimitars from bronze to mithril.
